Open Colorimeter

The Open Colorimeter is a single-wavelength photometer for measuring visible/IR light absorbance through samples in a standard 10mm pathlength cuvette. 

The device uses the Adafruit TSL2591 Light Sensor and a PyBadge pre-programmed with open source CircuitPython firmware. The cuvette holder and enclosure are made from 3D-printed black resin. Links to the hardware designs and open source firmware are in the Product Guide.

The Open Colorimeter ships pre-programmed & ready-to-use. No assembly, soldering or programming is required.

• Single wavelength photometer with a broad range light sensor
• Ships with an LED of choice - select from a white LED or 10 different wavelength options from 470nm-850nm
• Includes a USB cable for battery-charging or power
• Includes a pack of 6 cuvettes: 3 macro (2.5-4.5 mL) and 3 semi-macro (1.5-3.0 mL)
• Includes a light-blocking cap to place over the cuvette during measurements
• Optional: additional LED wavelength options are available as add-on options below and the store page

LED boards

Single-wavelength Open Colorimeter LED boards are available so users can fully customize their instrument to a preferred wavelength. We have a range of LED wavelength options to choose from and will be adding more as we develop them. Wavelength options describe the peak or dominant wavelength as described in the LED manufacturer spec sheets.
